Suede Moto Jacket from the Nordstrom Sale

Happy Monday from Seattle! I'm excited to share one of my favorite finds for fall from the Nordstrom Sale this year. This is my third year covering the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and despite the tech hiccups, I found some really great deals on items that are perfect for the upcoming fall season. I'm such a summer person, that sometimes it's hard for me to shift gears in July and start thinking layers, muted tones, and suede - but, this look is classic and one I repeat all fall long. All of the items in this outfit are what I would consider "wardrobe staples." The ribbed tee can be paired under a cardigan, oversized scarf, jacket, or by itself, and goes with everything due to it's neutral color. This was my first time buying Madewell jeans, and I don't know why I waited so long because I'm in love! They are a 10" high rise so they come up right to my belly button which I like. They do run a little big though, so I recommend sizing down one size. I also really like the rust colored buttons, it's a nice compliment for fall and looks cute paired with the short waisted jacket. I've owned moto jackets of all versions for years now, and don't plan on stopping anytime soon! They're warm but not too bulky, good quality so they hold up perfectly over time, and the cropped cut is flattering in terms of elongating your legs. This is my third color, and I'm loving the olive! Booties are something I never have enough of, I'm always trying to pair the color of my top with the same color bootie (guess it's the OCD in me), so adding to the collection can never hurt. Most of what I already own are round toed, so these were a nice change and I love the color!

The sunnies I have on are probably my favorite buy from the sale! I bought my first pair of Gucci sunglasses back in college and guarded them like my most prized possession. After a few years after I bought them, a woman on a paddle board in Aruba knocked me over and I ended up losing them in the ocean! I was so beat up over it, but ever ended up buying another pair. Well, the exact same glasses were part of the sale this year and you better believe I scooped those up before anything! Always such a good feeling.

I'm in Seattle for just a couple more days before heading home! We've gotten so lucky with the weather this go around. It's been 80+, no humidity and full sun the entire trip, definitely a nice break from 100 degrees and 100% humidity at home but I sure do miss my sweet pup and husband!

2018 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

One of the most anticipated sales of the year is finally here (the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale), and today I'm taking you into the dressing room with me for a good old fashion dressing room diaries post! I know it's not the prettiest post, but you get the idea! I'll be updating and posting new ways of styling these items in the coming days as well.

This year I flew out to Seattle to shop the sale a day before Early Access begins and this girl is exhausted, ya'll! We spent a total of 8 hours in Nordstrom sifting through all the new goodies - insane, I know. But with that being said, we found lots of great deals and I'm excited to show you my top picks.

Keep in mind that sizes in popular items tend to sell out on the first or second day of early access, so if you're interested in something I recommend jumping on it so you don't miss out. We already noticed sizes selling out, and the sale technically hasn't started yet to the majority of the public! I have learned my lesson on this the hard way in years past. Let's get started!

Turks & Caicos Travel Guide

The adventures have been endless this summer, but I couldn't go without sharing my favorite trip of the season thus far - Beaches Turks & Caicos! Today I'm walking you through the rooms, the food, the service, and amenities. So let's get started!

Rooms // There are four different "villages" at Beaches Turks & Caicos! Caribbean and Seaside, Italian, Key West, and French. We had a villa in Key West (pictured in the above two photos), but were traveling with two other bloggers who had a room in the Caribbean village. Both were awesome! Our villa was equipped with a kitchen, full size refrigerator (that was stocked with waters, juices, and champagne), a living room and separate bedroom/bathroom. The style and decor of the villa was more traditional, while our girlfriends room in the Caribbean village was newly updated and more modern. We spent most of our time around the Key West village as it felt a little newer and secluded from the hustle and bustle. I highly recommend this area if you prefer somewhere quieter, and geared towards adults.

Dining // The property has 21 restaurants to choose from! We vacationed at Beaches for four days, so we didn't have a chance to try them all but I can honestly say what we did try was great! I had read that this particular resort was known for their food, and I totally see why. Some of my personal favorites were the sushi at Sky Restaurant, breakfast at Barefoot By the Sea, dinner at Kimonos, and coffee at Cafe de Paris!

Grounds // This resort is massive, ya'll! I didn't realize this until we got there, but it's hands down the biggest resort I've ever been too. The grounds are very clean, well manicured, and easily walkable. Our first morning at Beaches, Bailey and I went for a run around the property to scope out where we waned to hang during the trip! I highly recommend at least taking a walk around the paths in the mornings before it gets too warm to be able to see everything and get acclimated in terms of direction. As I mentioned above, Key West seemed to be the quietest area of the resort, and where we spent most of our time, while the Italian village was super kid friendly. We also really enjoyed the pool over in the French area!

Amenities // There is truly something for everyone here! If you have kids, the resort is fully equipped with a water park, kids camp, and even a choo choo train. If you're looking at more of a couples vacation they offer beach front water sports, scuba diving, golf etc. We had such a good time just soaking in the blue water at the beach, and hanging by the pool that we didn't do too many activities. However, we did opt for a sailboat ride off the beach which was a blast! Pro Tip: the yellow rings in the water on the beach are amazing for just relaxing in the water while still getting a tan! It's like your own personal float.

Service // The service was exceptional! I'm a big time critic on service, and I really have no complaints here. Everyone was friendly, helpful, timely and most importantly - happy to be there, which was so refreshing! Upon arrival, we had the friendliest staff member (his name was Jude) help us with our bags, get acclimated to our room, offer additional drink supplies etc. Service can really make or break a trip for me, and the staff at Beaches are truly in the right jobs!

At the end of the day, we can't wait to get back to Beaches Turks & Caicos! It's been by far, our favorite blogger vacation to date, and we hope to return with the boys in tow sooner rather than later.

2018 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: What You Need To Know

It's almost that time! The 2018 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is less than two weeks away, and today I'm sharing everything you need to know to navigate the sale succesfully. This guide will give you early access dates, benefits of being a credit card holder, access to the catalog, my favorite buys from last years sale, and items I'm eyeballing this year.

I will be shopping this years sale from Nordstroms flagship store in Seattle so that I can provide you with the most optimal in-store shopping experience! This means I will be taking you along with me throughout the store via stories in real time, so if you don't already follow me over on Instagram click here to do so. Like last year, I will break down my favorite items from women's wear, shoes, handbags, and beauty products and will be updating this post as I go (so be sure to bookmark it so you can easily refer back).

FAQ's

What is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, nicknamed #Nsale on social media, is Nordstroms biggest sale of the year. For a limited period of time, Nordstrom offers brand new fall styles at deeply discounted prices. During the #Nsale, no promo code is needed - you will see the original price listed under the item of interest online, as well as the Nordstrom sale price below it.

When is the 2018 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
Card holders can shop the sale starting July 12 - August 5! If you're not a card holder, but would like to be, you can apply for the Nordstrom Credit card here until July 10th to still receive early access! The sale opens to everyone (non cardholders included) on July 20, 2018.

Why is early access beneficial?
Early access is beneficial because the hottest items sell out first. Access for card holders starts (July 12th) a full week before the general public (July 20th) can shop the sale, so sizes and selections are still fully stocked. In addition, the day you sign up for a Nordstrom credit card, you get a $20 Nordstrom note that can be used towards you purchase. Other perks of the card include personal triple points days where you have the opportunity to accrue additional $20 notes. I had early access last year, and wanted to wait to see a purse I spotted in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale catalog in person, and by the time I had a chance to do that it was sold out in store and online. Womp, womp. So, this year I will be purchasing everything online, and using their free returns policy should the items not work out.

What kind of deals can I expect?
A preview of sale items for both women and men can be found in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale catalog here. Some of the most popular discounted items include shoes (my personal favorite), tops and blouses, cardigans and sweaters, jeans, jackets, undergarments, purses, and dresses. You can expect discounts of 25-30% off, and in some cases more. I usually stock up on pricier/designer items during this time as they traditionally either don't go on sale at all, or not with these types of discounts. Items like Tory Burch flats and Stuart Weitzman boots have been a few of the most popular finds in years past.

What were the top 6 most popular items amongst my readers last year?
TopShop Stripe Colorblock Cardigan
(sold out during Early Access)

How should I shop the sale?
I recommend previewing the sale products via the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Catalog prior to the sale date, and starring items you are interested in. I also tend to shop for staple items first. Last year, I had the most success, and got the most use out of staple items I purchased like fall booties, Nike tennis shoes, cardigans, work wear, athletic gear, and simple tee shirts! I also really recommend shopping for these online. Most Nordstroms have an "in-store pickup" option, so if you're worried about fit, you have the opportunity to scoop up the most desirable items and sizes via their website, and going to the store when it's convenient to try them on. If they don't fit, you can return them right there.
