Vitamin A Swimsuit In The Dominican Republic

Let me start off by apologizing for my tardiness on blog posts lately! Ya'll life has seriously been insane for us lately. I know I'm behind, but I promise I'll be catching up on everything soon! We are home from the Dominican, and I already wish we were back! I will be doing a full review on the resort later on, but I wanted to start by sharing my favorite beach look to date.

As I mentioned in my Instagram post, I orginally purchased these swing shorts to wear with a crop top to dinner one night. Once the bathing suit came in, I realized the shorts looked way better with this swimsuit! So I had a quick change of plans. Ya'll, if someone told me I could only wear one pair of shorts for the rest of my life, these would be it! I own them in six different prints (embarrasing, I know), and they're so easy to dress up or down! It has an elastic waist band on it, so if you're like me and you're tummy expands when you eat, not to worry - the Carlos Swing Shorts have you covered for expansion! I really wish you could enter emoji's into blog posts, that deserved a laughing emoji. Anyway, if you scroll wayyyy back to last summer in my IG feed, you'll see the other prints I have them in. You need a pair.

This bathing suit is also a favorite of mine! Vitamin A just came out with their new collection, and I'm loving all of the neutral tones. I also bought this one to wear in Miami next month. I cannot even begin to describe how well this suit fit! I have a very round back side, so all these extremely cheeky bottoms are just not flattering on me (my opinion). So  finally, I was able to find a pair that fit perfectly without feeling half naked. The top is also extremely flattering for smaller chested women, and it's easily adjustable!

The best thing about this? The swimsuit is currently up to 25% off! #treatyoself

What To Wear To Shows At New York Fashion Week

What do I wear to New York Fashion Week? This was the million dollar question ladies and gents. Actually, I lost some sleep over it (haha). I really wanted to branch out and go with something edgy, yet femine. Charlotte, North Carolina doesn't have too many opportunities to rock a killer one piece with a plunging neckline, so what better opportunity then at NYFW?! I'm also 5'8", so most jumpsuits don't fit me right through the torso, they're usually too short. This was one of the most slimming and flattering pieces I've ever put on. YES, I know it's expensive - but for an event like this, it's worth it. The quality of the material is excellent, and it just fit like a glove. The plunging neckline gave me the "edge" I was looking for, while the lace sleeves added the perfect amount of "femme." To polish off the look, I added my favorite strappy heel. If you don't own a pair of these, they come in a million colors, and you must buy a pair.

Okay, now... insert weather scenario. The day before I arrived, the weather gods decided they were going to dump an entire foot of snow all over New York City and provide me with 23 degrees of sheer warmth...How sweet of them!? Wasn't really planning for the "chill" factor, so my jacket was actually a last minute "thank god I have this in my suitcase" addition. It ended up working out beautifully. I've reworked that jacket into so many different outfits, and it proved it's worth all over again last weekend. Lucky for you, it's now on super sale for $24 (I paid $100).

I picked up my earrings from the Baublebar showroom on my first day in the city. Again, way edgier than I typically go for here - but I'm totally hooked. They easily dress up any outfit!

New York Fashion Week Day One Outfit

Happy Valentine's Day lovelies! I'm spending the evening at home with Shane. We are cooking filet and lobster, and enjoying a nice bottle of Caymus. Having just come home from fashion week - I am so happy we are staying in tonight!

I want to share one of my favorite street style looks from New York Fashion Week with you all! This was my first time attending fashion week, and it was an eventful/crazy few days! I wore this look for meetings on day one. This is a pretty casual, yet comfortable outfit and completely appropriate for running around town! I'm a sucker for OTK boots, and these do not disappoint. I've worn these numerous times through the fall and winter, and still think they're so worth it! I walked all over New York City in them, and my feet were still doing okay hours later. They double for the $800 Stuart Weitzman pair. I have also worn these jeans consistently through fall and winter, another staple piece in my closet. They're high-waisted and extremely flattering through the legs! I also really like the dark wash. I picked up my belt last minute the night before we left for the city! I was actually in search of the Gucci belt that looks very similar to this, but was unable to locate one in Charlotte - so I gave Tory Burch a try, and to my surprise this was a very comparable option for half the price. I've got my eye on the brown one next! I am completely in love with this OTS top. Yes, it is a little pricier, but it's great quality and extremely comfortable! It also tucked into my jeans nicely, and stayed put all day. Now, let's talk about this BB Dakota Moto jacket for a second. Again, a little pricier, but so flattering! It's made of authentic leather, and comes in white as well! This is the perfect staple piece to own for spring/fall. It's so easy to throw on over a sleeveless or OTS top, and peel off as the temperatures rise. It also adds a little spice to an outfit!

I've got a full round up of our week, meetings, and activities at New York Fashion Week coming later on, and will be featuring what I wore to everything in the next few posts! What are ya'll's plans this evening?!

What To Wear On Valentine's Day

Yumi Kim Dress // Similar shoes (mine are old) // Similar bag (mine is old) // Vanessa Mooney earrings

Whether you are celebrating Valentine's, Galentine's, or both - finding the perfect outfit can be challenging. Personally, I love to dress up for a good Valentine's date night. Every year for Valentine's Day, Shane and I go to Charleston. This was the first trip we ever took together, so we decided to make it a tradition, and it's also why we picked Charleston as our wedding location! However, because we are taking so many extra planning trips this year, we are skipping our tradition (insert sad face.) Instead, we are going to do a romantic dinner at one of our favorite Charlotte restauraunts, and this is the dress I have picked out to wear.

I love this bright red color! It immediately caught my eye on Revolve's site, and I knew I needed it in my closet! If red isn't your color, not to worry - it comes in black too! I wanted to wear something classy, yet festive - so this came in as a perfect match. Not to mention, it has spandex in it so you don't have to worry about expanding after your meal (LOL). I know I'm not the only one with a food baby afterwards! If the "day of love" just really isn't your thing, you could easily wear this dress to a spring wedding as well!

Anyway, what are you guys doing for Valentine's Day!? We are always looking for new date night ideas, so I would love to hear what your plans are!
